Alien Cowboy

So I'm working on a character and at first I didn't know what to model. I started on a piece but didn't finish it. I became a little uninspired to finish it. However, I remember that I had some sketches of some characters that I wanted to model. I had sketched a cowboy in my Acting For Animators Class. I started to model that in Maya and had it came down to modeling the head of the character, it kind of felt like the character had a alien-like head. I decided to go with that theme. I will post it by the end of this week. That just goes to show you that sometimes your thoughts change and as a artist you dont have to be married to one picece and that you should embrace change and all aspects of it. It's called, EVOLUTION OF THE ARTISTRY. ;)

I'm going to lower the glow on the back lights because it is a little blinding.

2010 Aston Martin Rapide

I Finally got finished with my car. Im so proud of myself from where I started on the first car. Now I just have to do some rendering modification to get it exactly the way I want it. I used image based lighting and a mixture of mental ray and maya shaders for the textures.

2010 Aston Martin cont.

Okay everyone. I started in my Aston Martin. I did run into some problems with trying to figure out how much detail to do while it's in nurbs and what to leave for detail when I convert it to Polys. I was watching a tutorial to get the feel for modeling the car and doing the curves, but of course they were modeling a lamborghini. That is fine but the curvature on the two cars couldn't be any more different. The lamborghini's structure is more hard edge and I have all these smooth curves on the Aston Martin. Go figure! but I spoke with one of my teachers and he really help me to get a clear understanding of what type of look I was going for. So im excited to really put the work in on it. COMING SOON!
